New private members’ club Home Grown opens in Marylebone
A serious networking hub for entrepreneurs
Home Grown – a new private members’ club for entrepreneurs opening April 3 in Marylebone’s Great Cumberland Place – will complement sister-establishment Home House with an offering that “combines all the luxuries of a private club with some 20 networking opportunities every month”.
Home Grown will invite known entrepreneurs, dubbed its “Rock Stars” to appear at a series of events. The first session will take place on April 17 with Nick Wheeler, founder of men’s clothier Charles Tyrwhitt. There is a number of forums planned for May, which will include appearances by interior designer Kelly Hoppen and Peter Roberts, founder of PureGym.
Founder members of the club include Holly Tucker of Notonthehighstreet.com, Ben Branson of Seedlip non-alcoholic spirits, and Andrew Jennings of watch brand, Larsson & Jennings. There are also specialist seminar partners associated with the venue, such as chartered accountants/tax advisers Haysmacintyre, business consultancy Hire&Scale, and wellness experts The Health Concierge.
But it won't be a case of “all-work, no-play” at this establishment as wellness is high on the agenda, from regular “sweatworking” sessions (a networking workout) and dedicated wellbeing seminars to recharge and meditation classes and Yin yoga.
The club, which is located within four Grade-II-listed, six-storey Georgian townhouses, has 35 bedrooms (priced from £155 a night) designed by Russell Sage Studio and will provide a brasserie-style restaurant, café and several bars, plus business lounges, meeting rooms and pitching suites. Applications are open and chosen entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders who apply before the club officially opens will pay a £1,500 fee (per annum) as a founder member – the joining fee, which is £299, will be waived. For those joining after April 3, the membership fee is £2,000.
