Dates to dine with Theo Randall
The British chef creates two exceptional “dinner with the winemakers” experiences at his eponymous Park Lane restaurant
Chef Theo Randall is to create two special dinner experiences in collaboration with select winemakers at his eponymous restaurant at the InterContinental London Park Lane. One, held on Friday May 10, will showcase signature dishes matched with both Tutto Wines and Passione Vino. Diners will sample selections from each Italian label, and their experts will be on hand to converse about the origins of the grape and the story behind the wines. A further champagne dinner will take place on Thursday July 11, when guests will enjoy Billecart-Salmon – champagne from one of the few remaining houses in France that is still owned by the original family.
May’s epicurean adventure (priced £150 per person) will begin with a glass of Passione Vino’s Natural Italian Prosecco, followed by a starter of cappelletti di vitello (fresh pasta stuffed with slow-cooked veal with pancetta, porcini mushrooms and parmesan) paired with a glass of wine from each maker: a 1990 Barbacarlo, Montebuono from Tutto Wines and a 2015 Bragagni – “Rigogolo” Albana Ravenna from Passione Vino.
A feast of roast rack of Somerset lamb will be served with Tutto’s 2016 Guttarolo, Amphora Primitivo and Passione Vino’s 2015 Sicilian Syrah Guarini Plus Aldo Viola for the main course. Alternatively, a dish of roasted sea bream with roseval potatoes and parsley and white-wine sauce is matched with a 2016 Cantina Giardino, Fiano Gaia and a Fiano Don Chisciotte, Zampaglione. A further two pairings will be offered alongside a cheese plate, followed by a vintage 2008 Ca’ de Noci Sottobosco Lambrusco, which will accompany a warm almond tart with Italian apricots.
Those dining at the champagne event on July 11 can look forward to a similar menu (also priced £150 per person), and the dinner will be hosted by Nicolas Roland-Billecart – son of Billecart-Salmon’s president – who will regale guests with anecdotes from the champagne world.
