Halloween chills and thrills at The London Edition hotel

Join Dior’s Kim Jones, Georgia May Jagger, Nick Grimshaw and others aboard the cursed HMS Berners for an immersive dinner experience – and do your bit for ocean conservation.

Prepare for fright night, as the Cursed Voyage of HMS Berners sets the chilling Halloween theme at The London Edition hotel’s Berners Tavern on October 31. The immersive dining experience (priced £130 per person for a three-course dinner with a Grey Goose welcome cocktail) will transport guests to the bottom of the sea in the name of a good cause – one-third of all ticket prices will go to Project O, the ocean conservation charity.

A dress code of Deep Sea Shipwreck Disco will set the vibe as the cursed voyage starts its descent into the abyss at 7.30pm – the restaurant transformed into the ballroom of a sunken ship where a large tentacle will creep into the interior, fish will swim overhead, and guests will be introduced to a cast of fantastical characters, from “the Captain” to a “disco fish”, all under eerie blue lighting. One of two themed Grey Goose cocktails will greet the brave – the Aegean Spritzwreck or the Sonic – followed by a dinner of heritage cauliflower and pearl couscous salad; Creedy Carver English chicken with tenderstem broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy; and bitter chocolate ganache with passion-fruit sorbet and passion-fruit jam.

Dior’s artistic director, Kim Jones, and model Georgia May Jagger – a Project O charity ambassador – will greet guests, and after the feasting DJs Nick Grimshaw, Hugo Heathcote and Jaime Winstone will hit the decks on the bow of the ship, decorated with “luscious ladies” designed to seduce sailors to the murky depths.

There will also be a mermaid’s cave and karaoke bar where a Trick or Treat tombola will see brave sea-goers rewarded with prizes from Dior, Ralph Lauren, Petersham Nurseries, Jo Wood, Love Brand & Co, LARQ, The London Edition and more. The ship will finally sink at 2am with only the bravest sailors sure to survive...
