Angela Hartnett’s one-night only Piedmont Supper Club
Northwestern Italian flavours will be matched with full-bodied reds at Cafe Murano Covent Garden
Bringing a taste of the northwestern Italian region of Piedmont to London, Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett is hosting a Regional Supper Club (£90 per person) at Cafe Murano Covent Garden on November 1. Held in collaboration with Shoreditch-based Italian-wine specialists Passione Vino, the evening’s menu will feature some of Piedmont’s most celebrated dishes: chard-topped bruschetta bietole; vitello tonnato; bollito misto, representing the region’s famous beef; and crostata al cioccolato nocciole, a chocolate and hazelnut tart. The wines will be full-bodied; Piedmont is home to the three Bs – Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera.
Hartnett’s grandmother, who was born in Bardi in Parma, inspired her fascination with Italian food. “It makes sense that you stick to the things you know best, hence why I do more Italian food than anything else,” she says.
Though Hartnett will head up the kitchen, she will also be available to greet guests and chat about the menu and her career in food. Passione Vino co-owner Luca Dusi will also be on hand to discuss the wine selection.
