Bulgari boudoir boutique pops up at Harrods

Is it an exhibition? Is it a shop? Bulgari’s new pop-up at Harrods promises to be both. From Friday October 30 until Saturday November 28, the Londondepartment store will house a boutique with limited-edition jewels, watches and handbags created especially for the occasion, such as the striking rose-gold and malachite Diva pendant (£3,150, limited to 50, second picture) inspired by La Dolce Vita, Sophia Loren and – no stranger to a dazzling bauble – Elizabeth Taylor.

Two galuchat versions of the signature snake-clasp Bulgari Serpenti Forever handbag will be available in green and gold (10 of each colour in small, £2,850, and medium, £3,650), as well as a showstopping one-of-a-kind edition in emerald crocodile leather with a pavé diamond-set gold head (£105,000, first picture).

Gentlemen will be served with the Octo Ultranero watch (£6,300, limited to 20, third picture), an update of the original launched in 2012, featuring a black lacquered dial, hand-applied rose-gold indices and an alligator strap.

As for the exhibition element, a boudoir-themed room will showcase some of the very latest high-end Buglari jewels, such as the platinum-set Musa necklace, created around a 58ct Burmese oval cabochon sapphire, with diamonds and Zambian emeralds. Visitors can take snaps on the boudoir’s built-in dressing-table camera at complimentary appointments – but each Saturday, a professional photographer will shoot more formal bejewelled portraits. And since every item on show is for sale (prices on request), that photograph may well clinch the deal.
